Copperfield is a year old, unneutered male Lab mix. Copperfield is one of 165 animals that were rescued from an “animal sanctuary” in Mississippi that was actually a hoarding situation. The SPCA of Central Florida took in 19 of those animals. When local and national agents got to the “sanctuary” they found deplorable conditions. The animals were scared, unsocialized, and many were underfed. Because of his background, he is a little shy at first and can be startled by loud noises. Once he warms up though, he is a VERY sweet, affectionate boy. He is playful and likes lots of companionship. We have very little information about whether he is housebroken or good with cats. He has been living in a kennel with another dog, so he is fine with them. Copperfield needs a caring and loving home with people who are willing to spend the time with him that is needed for him to become the spectacular dog we here all know he is. Copperfield has been here since 3/25.

Dixie is a 10 month old, spayed female Boxer mix. She came to us from another shelter that was becoming overcrowded and asked us to take a few animals for them. We do not know whether she is housebroken or good with cats. She seems to do well with children here at the shelter, but we do not know how she would interact with them at home. She also seems to be fine with her kennelmates. Dixie is an energetic young dog, who loves to play. She has been here since 5/17.
